The latest “buzz word” in medicine has been “stem cell” treatments for many debilitating diseases. The process of stem cell treatments is in its infancy and that is almost a hopeful stretch when one examines the progress in this area. Stem cell research is just beginning and our knowledge is still very limited. We know that certain cells ( so far only adipose, aka fat cells, and some blood cells) have the ability in certain circumstances under certain conditions to assimilate the organic structure of the tissue they are placed into. This is still a far cry from whole sale reproducibility. This though has not stopped many companies as well as aesthetic spas and physicians from “associating” their products and services with the “buzz word”.
