Safety First
No matter how important good looking results may be, the most important aspect of that procedure has to be safety. Sometimes medical conditions show up just prior to surgery or they are not apparent until the last minute. If these findings can possibly compromise the results or the safety of the patient then surgery has to be postponed until the issue is resolved or clarified. Patients put their normal life on hold for these procedures and initially are upset at the
postponement but soon realize that their best interests are at the heart of the matter. They are all thankful that caution was used and "corners" not cut.

Silicone Implants
Silicone (gel) implants have finally been approved for general public use by the FDA. It is about time! For over fifteen years the freedom of personal health choices in the confines of the physician's office was taken away from us in this "land of the free and the home of the brave". Never mind that the rest of the world had been safely using this and other products. Junk science and special interest groups held political sway. Finally the truth and science could not be held back. Special interest groups, although well meaning, should not put their noses into private choices made by informed consumers, rather they should concentrate on real problems here and around the world such as work inequality, rape, labial castration, and other dehumanizing atrocities practiced daily.
